The film Zaferanieh, 14 Tir (فیلم زعفرانیه ۱۴ تیر), directed by Seyed Ali Hashemi, is a social drama made in 2018 (1397 in the Iranian calendar) but released publicly several years later. The story centers on the affluent Anousheh family and takes place on 14 Tir (July 5), which is also the birthday of the family matriarch, Meimounat—a deeply symbolic and emotional day for the family.

The family is preparing for a celebration, but the calm atmosphere is suddenly disrupted by unexpected events. The daughter, Mahrokh, returns from a two-month trip to Armenia and promises her mother a surprise. However, her return becomes the catalyst for a series of emotional upheavals, bringing long-suppressed secrets and tensions to the surface.

With a cast of well-known Iranian actors including Mehdi Hashemi, Hengameh Ghaziani, Nazanin Bayati, Linda Kiani, and Masoud Rayegan, the film explores the contrast between the seemingly perfect facade of upper-class urban life and the deeper psychological and emotional fractures within the family.
