Lak Posht Va Halazoon (فیلم لاک پشت و حلزون) is a quietly powerful Iranian drama directed by Reza Hamasi and written by Mohsen Rezaei. It tells the story of Pedram, a ten-year-old boy who lives with his mother, Afsaneh. When she decides to remarry, Pedram reacts with resistance and pain. His inner turmoil grows when he meets a mysterious young man, and a secret, fragile bond begins to form between them.

This multilayered film explores themes of loss, the longing for freedom, and the silent tensions that often simmer beneath everyday relationships. Shot in the northern neighborhoods of Tehran, it employs restrained framing, controlled lighting, and a slow, meditative rhythm to evoke the emotional world of a child caught between conflicting desires.

After years of waiting for a distribution license, The Turtle and the Snail finally premiered in June under the Art & Experience cinema group, with a rating of 15+.

The film has also traveled abroad to festivals such as Dhaka, Sofia, Pune, and Prague, receiving nominations and awards. With its understated but emotionally rich storytelling, it continues to draw attention both inside Iran and on the international stage.
