Aqaye Zaloo

Aqaye Zaloo (فیلم آقای زالو) is a 2026 Iranian comedy-drama directed by Mehran Ahmadi. Set in the turbulent years following the Iranian Revolution and during the Iran–Iraq War, the film blends humor with social commentary to portray the struggles of ordinary people navigating a rapidly changing society.

The story centers on Manouchehr, a young man who becomes entangled in an illegal alcohol distribution scheme run by his friend Jamshid’s father, a former royal court cook. As the new political order tightens control, Manouchehr is arrested while delivering contraband and is sent to prison. Meanwhile, his younger brother, driven by patriotic ambition, assumes Manouchehr’s identity to enlist in the war, setting off a chain of consequences that reshape both their lives.

Years later, upon his release, Manouchehr must confront a transformed reality marked by loss, identity confusion, and the lingering effects of his past decisions.
