Siah Sang
Siah Sang (فیلم سیاه سنگ) is a thought-provoking and symbol-laden story that, within a short but profound space, explores a person’s inner crisis. The main character is trapped between the weight of their past and a longing for liberation—as if a black stone has fallen onto the path of their life, swallowing the light of hope.
Through minimal yet precise moments, the film uses the language of imagery and silence to draw the viewer toward the hidden truths beneath the surface of dialogue and human encounters. The film’s soundscape and visuals—its sound design, the warmth and chill of light, and its careful camera movements—create a dreamlike, almost memory-like atmosphere where reality and imagination merge.
The performances, especially by Nasrollah Radesh and Sajjad Afsharian, carry deep emotion with few words, inviting the audience to look within themselves as they peer into this symbolic “stone.”
“Black Stone,” directed by Saman Lotfian and produced by Seyed Maziar Hashemi, has been screened at international festivals such as the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and the IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival, proving that even a small film can ask profound questions.
