Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A four-year Degree (NQF Level 8) in:
- Natural Sciences
- Environmental Sciences
- Or a related qualification
- Six years post-qualification experience in a relevant field
- Knowledge of:
- United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
- Paris Agreement transparency framework
- MRV Framework (Monitoring, Reporting and Verification)
- Climate change policies and programmes
- International climate reporting requirements
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Facilitate South Africa’s international climate reporting obligations under the UNFCCC and Paris Agreement
- Provide technical expertise on the enhanced transparency framework.
- Manage climate change monitoring, reporting, and verification processes
- Support implementation and closure of transparency capacity-building projects
- Monitor funding and expenditure for climate-related programmes
- Coordinate environmental reporting and policy implementation
